Affidavit Claims Bernie Fine's Wife Was Sleeping With Players

This Bernie Fine case is getting ridiculous. The Film "Weekend At Bernie's" had a more logical plot.

In the suit against Syracuse University and Jim Boeheim, an affidavit was filed claiming that Laurie Fine (wife to accused child-molester and former assistant coach Bernie Fine) was having sex with the players and it wasn't a well-kept secret.

Accuser and former ball boy Bobby Davis said in the affidavit that he'd been around players who joked and spoke openly about having sexual relations with Laurie Fine, who, if you haven’t seen her, looks kind of like Johnny Sack's wife in the HBO series The Sopranos.

In other words, she's the equivalent of Bernie Fine but with boobs and a fro. Weird and gross.

Though the idea of Laurie sleeping with players sounds hard to believe and nauseating to envision, these claims, if ever proven truthful, could be extremely damaging to Syracuse and their prestigious basketball program. In the affidavit, Davis claims that head coach Boeheim knew of the situation and chose to ignore it.

Beside the point that Bobby Davis has found no one to corroborate his story other than his equally weird stepbrother, his claim about Laurie Fine sleeping with players is completely irrelevant to the original accusations regarding Bernie. With the statute of limitations expiring on Bernie Fine's alleged crimes, Davis has turned his attention to Boeheim and the University in search of justice, in the form of money of course.

"This is both desperate and disgusting, an example of an irresponsible and unprofessional lawyer flailing about to keep a dying lawsuit in the public eye, " wrote Laurie Fine's attorney in an email to the AP.

Though disturbing, what does Laurie Fine sleeping with players have anything to do with Bernie Fine sexually touching a ball boy? It's like Davis has a checklist of different ways to take down the Syracuse basketball program. What's next, Boeheim, Davis and Laurie had a three-way while Bernie videotaped?

While my opinion is based purely on speculation and assumption, the whole idea of players banging Bernie's wife just seems unfathomable. Let's see... 20-year old Long Island girls or my assistant coach's slimy, greasy, sloppy old wife?

In all seriousness, this case is getting absurd. None of the four accusers have credibility. Two of them already admitted to lying, fabricating quotes and stories regarding their initial claims. One of these two is ironically facing child molestation charges, and his own father calls him a liar. The other two winners are stepbrothers, one of which (Bobby) admitted to banging Laurie Fine himself!

Bernie Fine was fired a few months ago after Bobby Davis released a recorded conversation between himself and Laurie, in which she admitted to knowing about her husband's bizarre sexual preferences, as well as having sexual relations with Davis. The tape was produced by Davis without the help of any news outlets or police, and has been in question after Laurie Fine claimed the conversation was doctored.

This story keeps getting weirder and weirder, and ultimately just needs to disappear. It's becoming a bad soap opera, and is unnecessarily clouding one of Jim Boeheim's best coaching jobs of his career. I don't want to hear anything more unless there's documented proof or confessions.

Actually, I don't want to hear anything more, period. Laurie Fine and players? Gross.
